Rusty Hardin’s latest statement on Adrian Peterson is the first time we’ve heard from him since the Minnesota Vikings announced they have placed Peterson on the Exempt/Commissioners Permissions List last night.

Peterson isn’t allowed to be near the team or associated with them until he’s removed from the Exempt/Commissioners Permissions List. This will be an indefinite period of time depending on how fast the courts handle his case of child abuse which occurred within the last week when he was arrested.

The Vikings released a statement last night which in part read this:

"In conversations with the NFL over the last two days, the Vikings advised the League of the team’s decision to revisit the situation regarding Adrian Peterson. In response, the League informed the team of the option to place Adrian on the Exempt/Commissioner’s Permission list, which will require that Adrian remain away from all team activities while allowing him to take care of his personal situation until the legal proceedings are resolved. After giving the situation additional thought, we have decided this is the appropriate course of action for the organization and for Adrian."

Peterson’s lawyer, Rusty Hardin released his first statement Wednesday afternoon since the Vikings placed Peterson on the Exempt/Commissioners Permissions List. Per, Adam Schefter, the statement reads:

While Hardin didn’t tell us anything we didn’t know about the legal system, it’s good to know that a judge and jury will decide Peterson’s outcome and not Roger Goodell.
