The San Francisco 49ers defensive end Ray McDonald is amongst those players caught up in the NFL’s domestic violence epidemic. McDonald was arrested for suspicion of domestic violence in late August, but he remains on the 49ers active roster unlike other players with similar situations.
Now it looks like another prior incident is coming out in relation to McDonald. There was an incident in May, involving a woman and a gun according to Fox Sports’ Mike Garafolo.
San Jose Police released a report today stating a domestic incident occurred at Ray McDonald's home in May. Woman grabbed a gun (cont'd)

...and held the gun at her side. Gun was registered to the man (whom sources say is McDonald). Nothing from SJPD on McDonald's arrest yet.

So again, just to be clear here, this was an incident from May. This is not the incident that resulted in McDonald's arrest.

“Our position on the issue has been well stated and we’re following that process,” said coach Jim Harbaugh, via the San Jose Mercury News.
Makes you wonder if this new bit of information would be the catalyst to make the 49ers remove him from the active roster as it now appears these sticky situations are a trend with McDonald, and not an isolated incident.
Meanwhile, 49ers legend Jerry Rice has made his opinion of the situation known.
“He should be off that football field,” Rice said to CNN. “He should not have the opportunity to continue playing right now. Domestic violence, it’s a very touchy conversation, but it’s something that we have to address, and we have to deal with.”
