The Minnesota Vikings have been the center of NFL attention for the absolute wrong reason this past week as the Adrian Peterson incident has rocked the football community and polarized fans.

But Peterson isn’t the only Vikings player in trouble and he’s not the only one banned from the team either. After getting back into trouble for the umpteenth time, Jerome Simpson has been formally released by the Vikings, ending his unsuccessful tenure with the team.

Simpson was supposed to come over from the Cinicnnati Bengals and provide some firepower on offense but he’s done nothing of the sort and has only gotten into trouble it seems since he arrived.

He hasn’t always had the best quarterbacks in the league throwing to him while with the Vikings but that’s no excuse for the actions he’s taken off the field. Simpson may be best remembered for his flip into the endzone a few years ago but more time and criminal activity have passed since then to make us all forget how fun that play was and remind us how disappointing Simpson turned out to be.
