The Boston Celtics wanted to make a big splash in the offseason but never got the chance. Instead, it looks like they will continue building around their young talent.

Most veterans can’t stand being part of a team that’s rebuilding but forward Jeff Green seems okay with it.
“You can’t really put a timetable on the rebuilding process,” said Green via Chris Forsberg of ESPN Boston. “As long as you continue to get better each day — going to practice and just get better — that’s what it’s going to take for us to get better as a team and to increase wins. I think we ended the season well and this whole summer each guy took it upon themselves to get better, which is going to make our team better.”
The Celtics’ will likely take another hit by trading point guard Rajon Rondo during the season as they continue to get younger. Green himself may be traded as well.
Green averaged 16.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 41.2% from the field, 34.1% from beyond the arc and 79.5% from the free throw line for the Celtics last season. He has averaged 14.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 44.1% from the floor, 34.4% from three and 78.3% from the charity stripe in his career.
