Hello Fantasy CPR!

More from Fantasy Football

It’s time for Week 3 of Fantasy Football. I apologize for some of my picks last week. The Bears shocked us all when Alshon Jeffrey and Brandon Marshall both ended up playing last week and Jay Cutler had a great fantasy day. Let it be known I now consider Jay Cutler a must start unless you have an elite QB. Cutler seems to be thriving in Mark Trestmen’s system, and this could be the start of a career year for Cutler.

Now on to my picks for Week 3.

Quarterbacks:

Start: Russell Wilson: Playing a team he decimated 43-8 in last year’s Super Bowl, in a place where he is 16-1 as a starter, playing a defense that allowed Andrew Luck to throw for 370 yards? Yeah you are starting Russell Wilson this week. Trust me on this one.

Sit: Tom Brady: Yes I said it… It is time for Brady to ride the pine. Brady has yet to crack double figures in standard scoring leagues this year. Now he is playing the Raiders, which seem like an easy matchup, but they have actually been one of the better pass defenses in the league through two weeks. Maybe this will be the week Brady explodes, but we have not seen evidence of that so far

Sleeper: Ryan Tannehill: There have been few defenses more disappointing than the Chiefs this season.  The defense has already lost Derrick Johnson and Mike DeVito for the season. Eric Berry also ahas been ruled out for this week. All these things could spell trouble for the Chiefs, and if you are looking for a QB option, Tannehill could be worth a look

Running Backs:

Start: Joique Bell: Facing one of the worst rush defenses in Green Bay Week 3, Joique Bell is worth a look. Though he will split carries with Reggie Bush, who could also be worth starting this week, Bell has a big advantage: goal line carries.   Any time Detroit gets within the 3 yard line if they don’t elect to throw the fade to the corner for Calvin Johnson, odds are Bell will be getting that touchdown.

Bust Alert: I do not want to necessarily list these players as sit options but be cautious when considering to start either Eddie Lacy or Montee Ball this week. Lacy has struggled out of the gate, and things do not look like they will get any easier for him as he will face the Lions

Wide Receivers:

Start: Steve Smith Sr.: Smith impressed in his debut, but seemed to disappear in week 2. The rollercoaster is on its way back up I believe, as Smith could be in for a big week against Cleveland. Especially with Torrey Smith having to deal with Joe Haden.

Sit:  Michael Floyd: If Carson Palmer is out, there is no way you should play Floyd. Though Palmer-Floyd seemed to have a connection, Drew Stanton and Floyd have no connection whatsoever. Owners can only hope Palmer finds a way to play this week, or they can hope against hope that Stanton and Floyd get on the same page.

Sleeper: Wes Welker: Welker was one of the beneficiaries of the new NFL drug policy. Welker’s 4 game suspension ended up getting lifted, and now Welker will be ready to go Week 3.  Welker becomes another weapon for Manning in that high powered Denver offense. He could be worth a look as a flex play with WR2 upside.
