The NBA future of Ray Allen remains uncertain but there’s still a chance that he may return to play one more season in an attempt to retire on the top of his profession.

More from NBA

He’s turned in a Hall of Fame career and doesn’t really even need to produce one more season of work to solidify his legacy, but that might not stop him from doing so. He’s gotten interest from numerous teams across the league but the most recent interest has come from the Washington Wizards.

While it’s a interesting idea, Jesse Blancarte Basketball Insiders points out, Allen is unlikely to spend his final year in the NBA with a team like the Wizards and is far more likely to sign with a contender.

"Still, even though the Wizards are an up-and-coming team, it seems more likely that if Allen is to return for one final year, it will likely be with a team that is a favorite to win it all next season, like the Spurs. We won’t know for sure until Allen makes up his mind, a decision that reportedly may not be made until midseason."

Allen’s future is uncertain and returning for one more year may not be what he wants to do. No one would blame him if he retired and while we all would like to see one more year with Ray Allen in the NBA, it’s not like he didn’t turn in 18 other memorable campaigns to hang his hat on.
