Report: Josh McCown unlikely to play Week 4 vs. Steelers
By Josh Hill
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in deep trouble at the moment as they sit with an 0-3 record and a quarterback situation that is as complicated as it’s ever been. While the Josh Freeman era was forgettable, the start of the Josh McCown era is even less stellar.

Luckily, Bucs fans are getting a break from McCown as the quarterback is likely to be out a few weeks with what is being called a ‘severe sprain’ in his thumb. McCown suffered the injury during the 56-14 shellacking Tampa Bay endured on Thursday night and his status for next week’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers is in serious doubt.
This comes after reports began to surface on late Friday night that the optimism surrounding McCown’s thumb was misplaced.
With McCown likely sidelined, the job in Tampa Bay will go to Mike Glennon, who won the job last year over Freeman and will once again have to prove he’s worth a starting spot on one of the worst teams in football.
