The Dallas Cowboys seemed to figure out all the issues with their offense and team last week against the Tennessee Titans. They focused on running the ball, taking the pressure of Tony Romo who appears to still be recovering from his back surgery.

It even drew comparisons to the Super Bowl winning Cowboys teams from former quarterback Danny White.

Unfortunately for the Cowboys, this game started off more like the Cowboys season opener against the San Francisco 49ers than that win over the Titans. The Cowboys turned the ball over twice, leading to touchdowns. One was a fumble from running back DeMarco Murray, who came into the game as the league’s leading rusher. The second was an interception thrown by Tony Romo to Janoris Jenkins, who returned it for a touchdown.

The Cowboys found themselves down in a 21-0 hole in the second quarter, but like the 49ers game they began to mount a come back. They were able to add a Murray touchdown in the second quarter on a one-yard run to cap an 80-yard drive. On their next possession they added a Dan Bailey field goal to close out the half only down 21-10.

The Cowboys got the ball to start in the third quarter and the comeback continued. Cowboys wide receiver Terrance West came across the middle on the crossing route and the Rams cornerback bit on it abandoning Dez Bryant in the process. Bryant continued up field and was wide open behind the secondary with an easy 20-yard cushion.

Romo found him for the big touchdown pass to pull the Cowboys within four points, and their third score on as many drives.

The Cowboys added a field goal at the end of the third quarter to pull within one. To start the fourth quarter the Rams added a field goal to end the Cowboys’ 20-point unanswered streak.

The Cowboys kept trucking away though, a touchdown pass to an open Terrance Williams on an underneath crossing route gave the Cowboys their first lead of the game. On the very next possession, Cowboys linebacker Bruce Carter intercepted Austin Davis and returned it for a touchdown to take a 10-point lead.

The Rams were finally able to get their offense into gear on the next play and drove 80 yards down the field to get a touchdown to pull back within three points.

As the Rams were making a late drive, it was the Cowboys defense to step and make a game-saving and clinching play when cornerback Morris Claiborne made a big interception.

The Cowboys just ran out the clock to win the game 34-31.
