Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brian Hartline found the end zone for the first time this season on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. He caught a four-yard touchdown pass in the back of the end zone from quarterback Ryan Tannehill to pull the Dolphins within four points early in the third quarter.
Hartline was so happy to break the drought that he decided to pretend like he was in a happy place for his touchdown celebration. He pretended to sink a putt – without props mind you – down the line in the end zone.
Apparently the officials hate golf. Or they just have no sense of humor. At any rate, Hartline was penalized 15 yards for the celebration, which is far less animated that many that don’t draw flags.

Who can forget the famed Johnnie Morton worm? Or the Ickey Shuffle? Or Alfonso Smith doing the Carlton? While Hartline’s seeming harmless antics are not up there with the league leaders, the 15 yard penalty and the ire of the head coach will likely be the same.
I only want them to ask Hartline one question in the post-game interviews: was it worth it? Not that I think it should be penalized, I am just curious to see what he thinks of the call.
Are we back to the days of the old ‘No Fun League’ again?
