It was reported late on Saturday night that Matt Schaub would be out for this Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots but we now know why he’s going to be deactivated. According to Ed Werder from ESPN, Schaub will be out for the Raiders after his wife had an emergency C-section this weekend.

It’s not football related, but it’s yet another setback in Schaub’s career with the Raiders. He was acquired this offseason to be the starting quarterback and through three regular season games he’s taken zero snaps as the starter. His wife having a baby is pretty good excuse to not play, but Schaub has been outdone by Derek Carr and if you’ve seen anything he’s done on the field this year, that’s not saying much.
