The career of running back Maurice Jones-Drew seems to be reaching its end, as the Pro Bowler can’t stay healthy and has been banished to the football boneyard of Oakland.

For another consecutive Sunday, Jones-Drew showed up on the injury report and the likelihood of him playing against the New England Patriots is rather low.
According to Ian Rappoport from NFL Network, the Raiders are moving forward wither preparations this Sunday with the expectation that Jones-Drew will not be playing.
The #Raiders are not expecting to have RB Maurice Jones-Drew (hand) today vs. #Patriots, I’m told. Will be Darren McFadden & Latavius Murray

This isn’t what the Raiders signed up for when they added Jones-Drew this summer but they can’t expect him to always be healthy given the lack of tread on his tires. The Raiders have Darren McFadden and Latavius Murray to lean on, which helps, but not having Jones-Drew further signals that his career has less left in it than we thought thanks to how injured he always is and how easily replaceable in the lineup he is.
