Minnesota Vikings passed on trading fourth-round pick for Darren Sproles
By Josh Hill
The Minnesota Vikings are in a bit of a bind with their running back situation as they don’t have Adrian Peterson, they have no viable backups that they can have any real faith in and their season now hangs in the balance. If only there had been a way to acquire a running back this season that the team they’re playing today didn’t want.

Darren Sproles made a name for himself in San Diego with the Chargers but truly didn’t come into his own until he was plugged into Drew Brees’ offense. It was there that Brees and Sproles sucker punched defenses with endless screen passes that no one seemed able to stop.
The Minnesota Vikings could have had that this season, but according to Chris Mortensen, they passed on swapping a fourth rounder for Sproles this summer.
This is a non-story of sorts if Adrian Peterson is still with the team, but even is he was the Vikings offense could be so much more explosive with Sproles in it. Now that Peterson is gone for the time being, having Sproles would have had a different benefit but it’s a decision the Vikings will have to live with.
