Le’Veon Bell gushes about holes in Carolina Panthers defense
By Cory Buck
The Pittsburgh Steelers finally scored a touchdown in the second half of their Week 3 game against the Carolina Panthers. Antonio Brown’s third quarter touchdown reception was the team’s first since the second quarter of their Week 1 match against the Cleveland Browns. The biggest shock in their win? The big success of a running game that found holes all night.

Running backs Le’Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount combined for 265 rushing yards and a touchdown against the Panthers, finding holes all day. Bell even had an 81-yard run in the second half, which he discussed with Trib-Live Sports in Pittsburgh.
“The hole was probably the biggest hole I’ve had my whole career,” Bell said. “I hit it and kept running until I couldn’t run any more.”
Blount got in on the action with a big run late as well as a touchdown. The two not only fueled a struggling offense, but they brought smash mouth running football back to a Steelers team that hasn’t looked like itself since the first quarter of its first game in 2014.
While the team certainly took great strides on Sunday, coach Mike Tomlin wasn’t ready to put all the struggles behind them. I ain’t trying to crown them tonight,” he said. “I like the effort, they hung together, went into a hostile environment and won against a good group — and there’s a lot to be learned from that.”
