Report: Adrian Peterson is ‘in denial’ about child abuse case
By Josh Hill
The Minnesota Vikings lost their second game of the season on Sunday to the new Orleans Saints which officially dropped their record to 0-2 this season without Adrian Peterson. Many thought that the Vikings would use Sunday to distract themselves from what was happening with Peterson but they ended up getting jumped on by the Saints.

But while the Vikings are struggling without Peterson, the former MVP appears to be struggling with reality. According to Chris Mortensen from ESPN, Peterson is in denial about his situation and those close to him are starting to see that the running back doesn’t get what is happening to him.
"Peterson is in denial about his future, according to a team source. The Pro Bowler tweeted Friday that he passed a lie detector test, which served as further proof, according to multiple sources, that he “really doesn’t get it.”"
This has been apparent all throughout Peterson’s time away from the Vikings as he’s been unapologetic at best and insensitive at worst. Actually, at worst he’s a child abuser who faces prison time, but that doesn’t seem to be settling in for Peterson. He’s still focused on getting back to football, according to Mort, and in denial that he’s unwanted by the Vikings and largely by the NFL as well. That right there basically kills any hope for redemption that basic human beings can try to find for a man who stands accused of relentlessly beating his child.
