Blake Bortles will start the Jacksonville Jaguars’ next game versus the San Diego Chargers this Sunday. But it won’t just be this week that the Jags are rolling with the rookie quarterback.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Jacksonville’s plan is to stick with Bortles for the rest of the year and not turn back to Chad Henne.

Even though the Jags’ terrible offensive line makes this somewhat of a risky decision, this isn’t surprising at all. Jacksonville was going nowhere this season with Henne at the helm, so it’s wise to give Bortles a shot and see what he’s capable of doing.

Bortles played in relief of Henne in Week 3 versus the Indianapolis Colts. Bortles was 14-24 for 223 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Jacksonville coach Gus Bradley praised Bortles following the game.

From NFL.com:

"“Blake, I thought did a nice job. He’s going to learn now, he’s going to learn,” Bradley said after the game. “But he made some plays, he kept plays alive, he’s got really good instincts, made some really good decisions and some good throws — and then some of the throws that you saw, I’m sure he wishes he had back."

Jacksonville drafted Bortles with the No. 3 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
