Eric Bledsoe, Phoenix Suns make progress on new deal
By Wes Goldberg
This Eric Bledsoe situation has taken many turns, with plenty of rumors floating around the blogosphere. However, when Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski writes about basketball it could be taken as gospel.
According to Woj, the Phoenix Suns and Bledsoe are making progress that could keep the explosive guard in Arizona.
It’s unclear what sparked the momentum, but Minnesota Timberwolves did recently present Bledsoe with a four-year, $63 million deal. That sparked discussions of a possible sign-and-trade. Wojnarowski’s report could be in regards to a contract that would traded to Minnesota, or a deal intended to keep him with the Suns.

The Suns already offered Bledsoe a four-year, $48 million deal, but the player’s camp was seeking the five-year maximum contract. He could also accept the one-year qualifying offer attached to his status as a restricted free agent, which he has until Oct. 1 to accept.
What seemed like an obvious repairing at the beginning of the offseason has turned into a sour relationship, so the two sides making progress is encouraging.
In his only seasons with Phoenix, Bledsoe averaged 17.7 points, 5.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game in just 43 games due to a knee injury.
