Wow how times have changed in Pittsburgh over the years. The Pittsburgh Pirates lost 105 games in 2010, which was one of the worst seasons in MLB history. At that moment in time, Pirates fans were miserable and everything seemed to go wrong for the Pirates organization.

The only thing that kept the Pirates hopeful was having young players such as Andrew McCutchen and Starling Marte in their organization. In 2013, the Pirates finally snapped their embarrassing streak of having 20 consecutive losing seasons. The Pirates not only had a winning season, but they made it to the playoffs.

Making it to the postseason was a major step in the right direction for the Pirates and this season they proved that it wasn’t a fluke. After suffering a 20-year drought of not tasting the champagne, the Pirates clinched a playoff berth yet again this season.

This starts a new streak for the Pirates, but this time it’s a positive streak, though. Two winning seasons in a row and two consecutive postseason berths. The Pirates this time around are looking to win a playoff series something that they didn’t do last year. The Pirates are making constant progress and with their young roster only getting better, only expect that progress to continue.
