Early in the 2014 offseason, the Chicago Bulls targeted Los Angeles Lakers’ big man Pau Gasol and sign him to a three-year, $22 million deal. They also struck a deal to bring Real Madrid forward Nikola Mirotić, who they have held the draft rights to since 2011, over on a three-year, $17 million deal. The Bulls re-signed point guard Kirk Hinrich and added veteran point guard Aaron Brooks. They also traded the rights to their 16th and 19th-overall selections for the rights to the 11th-overall pick, former Creighton Blue Jays’ forward Doug McDermott.

The Bulls would probably like to do a little more but that may not be possible.
Chuck Myron of Hoops Rumors doesn’t they Bulls making another move simply because they can’t.
"I don’t think there’s really all that much they can do. They re-signed Kirk Hinrich, signed Aaron Brooks and they have E’Twaun Moore as insurance. Moore is probably more of a shooting guard (same for Hinrich), but Brooks could be a D.J. Augustin-type player if need be. I’ve always been high on him, and I think he could thrive if given the chance. You can’t sign a star as a backup in case another star gets hurt; you’ve just got to hope you can stay healthy."
If they can stay healthy the Bulls should be at least the second-best team in the Eastern Conference with an opportunity to knock off LeBron James, Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
