Chicago Bulls’ big man Taj Gibson likely believed he would be the Bulls’ starting power forward after they used the amnesty clause to waive veteran Carlos Boozer. Instead, the Bulls will be starting Pau Gasol, who they signed in the offseason. There have been reports the Gibson is unhappy about continuing to come off of the bench, leading to speculation he could be traded.

Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders believes the reports of Gibson’s unhappiness have been overblown.
"As for comments about Taj — I have never met a player that wants to come off the bench. I have never met a player who will concede coming off the bench as they enter camp. Everyone wants to start and in Taj’s case he likely will. I would read too much into that story line."
Gibson has been the ultimate team player and will likely embrace any role he’s given.
Last season, Gibson averaged 13.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 1.1 assists per game last year while shooting 47.9% from the floor and 75.1% from the free throw line. Gibson, the 26th-overall pick in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft, has put up 9.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 0.9 assists per game while shooting 56.1% from the field and 68.6% from the charity stripe over his five-year career.
