ESPN College Pick Em picks for week 5

Last week I had an average week. I missed number 9 again when Indiana beat Missouri. I missed a couple more in the middle, like Iowa-Pitt and LSU-Mississippi State. It is getting to the point in the season where there are quite a few toss ups. I just need to make sure that I get the big points!

These picks are listed in order of most confidence(10) to least (1) for those of you that play the confidence game like I do.

10. Clemson over North Carolina: This may end up being a shootout, but I doubt it. Clemson’s defense is pretty good, and UNC can’t stop anyone right now.

9. Florida State over North Carolina State: You can bet that Winston will want to make headlines for something other than his off-field antics. This reeks of a blowout.

8. Boston College over Colorado State: USC couldn’t stop BC from running wild. The Rams won’t either.

7. Temple over Connectcut: The Owls are playing well right now. You can’t say the same for UConn, though they did look better against USF.

6. Nevada over San Jose State: Minnesota ran wild on SJSU. Fajardo and the Wolfpack will as well.

5. South Carolina over Missouri: This game may be a lot closer than people think, and the Gamecocks have struggled with high powered offenses. I just think that Missouri’s defense wont be able to keep the Cocks out of the end zone either.

4. Duke over Miami: This will be a tough road game for Duke, but they are a better coached and more experienced team. Look for Duke to win a close one.

3. Stanford over Washington: The Cardinal defense will be too much for the Huskies, even with their current success on offense.

2. Maryland over Indiana: The Terps have been more consistent than Indiana, but I do have this as a lower games since Indiana has the ability to win. It just depends on which team shows up.

1. Minnesota over Michigan: The Gophers have turned into a run-first team, and the Wolverine defense has had issues with the run. This spells trouble at home again for Michigan. That said, if they lose this, Hoke might be forced out.

Stay tuned for my picks against the spread!
