What must it be like to be an NBA player? To arrive at the NBA arena on a daily basis, ready to work? Where most employees enter the break room and set their lunch in the refrigerator (only for it to be stolen before noon) or head straight to their cubicle bull pen, the NBA player’s base of operations is his locker. From here, everything about his day begins. And, if you’re Cleveland Cavaliers guard Matthew Dellavedova, sometimes you get to your locker in the morning and there’s a large, inflatable yellow kangaroo waiting for you.

After a little sleuthing, Friendly Bounce has discovered the origin of the kangaroo menace. Though it’s hard to make out because of the artificial lighting in the picture, the kangaroo says “STAFFORD BROTHERS” across its stomach/pouch region. The Stafford Brothers, in turn, are an Australian DJ and production duo who like to bombard their concerts with inflatable yellow kangaroos.
According to a review of a Stafford Brothers show, the goal is to “bring everyone together,” though it seems that Dellavedova might have separated one of these kangaroos from the herd and relocated it to his locker in Cleveland.
Make sure you take good care of your new kangaroo friend, Matt. Get it inflatable yellow leaves and grass ASAP, and try to resist the urge to put a weight inside of it and turn it into a inflatable fighting kangaroo doll.
