The Oklahoma City Thunder announced the new name and logo of their D-League affiliate today. For those who missed it, they are the “Oklahoma City Blue” and Jake Whitacre had questions about it.
Of course, to go along with the Thunder’s less than inspiring name…was a less than inspiring logo.

Wow. That’s one of the most generic and boring logos ever. It looks like something made in a Photoshop Class back in 10th grade, for a fake Energy Drink. Of course, Twitter being the unique medium that it is, had many thoughts on this logo.
Many Tweeters immediately went the drink logo route.
Others stuck with branding, but went away from drinks.

And some went with the very simple joke of how uncreative this logo is.

The winner of this entire non official contest however, was definitely Dan Woike of the Orange County Register.

When there’s a ridiculous logo, you can always expect Twitter to be watching, waiting, for an oppurtunity to make a joke. Or to spam some poor unsuspecting Tweet Deck.
