Look. You might be burnt out on the narrative of Derek Jeter‘s final season. You might be tired of hearing about how great he is. You might not even think he is great to begin with. You might hate the New York Yankees.

If you are one of those people, just see yourself out. I say that kindly and with respect, not to be mean. But quite simply, this is a goosebumps moment, and it is meant to be enjoyed. If you won’t enjoy it, you should find something else to do.
Here it is. Jeter’s final time running onto the field in front of the home crowd. The crowd went crazy. The crowd chanted his name. It was a great moment, plain and simple.
It was a great moment, and it would have been guaranteed to be the best moment…if the lead held up. It didn’t, and so the game went to the bottom of the 9th inning. This was a fine moment for Jeter, and it wasn’t even the last one of the night, as he also delivered a walk-off hit.
