Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Texans
Two of the more surprising teams that started 2-0 come together at NRG Stadium in Houston Sunday afternoon fresh off their first losses of the season. The Bills went down at home to San Diego last week 22-10, while the Texans got mauled at the New York Giants 30-17 in a game that wasn’t as close as that score indicates. It’s a big game of sorts for Texans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who was the starter in Buffalo for four seasons. The teams last met in 2012, with Houston taking a 21-9 win at home. The all-time series is tied 3-3, although the Texans have won the last two meetings.

Keys to Victory
The Texans are hoping to get running back Arian Foster back after he sat last week with a hamstring injury, while the Bills got linebacker Keith Rivers back at practice Wednesday after he missed last week with a groin injury. The Bills offense sputtered against the Chargers, producing just 292 total yards, and Buffalo shot itself in the foot with 11 penalties, five of which extended San Diego drives by giving them first downs. Fitzpatrick threw three picks last week against the Giants and the defense got very little pressure on Eli Manning after New York’s first drive.
Betting Odds
Point Spread: Texans minus-3
Moneyline: Bills plus-150, Texans minus-170
O/U: 40.5
Prediction
E.J. Manuel’s growing pains continue into his second year and the Bills revisited a tendency to make the crucial mistake at the worst possible time against San Diego. Houston goes home and if Foster can’t go, Alfred Blue was a solid replacement with 78 yards on 13 carries. The problem was the Texans had to abandon the run after falling behind early.
Final Score: Texans 20, Bills 19
