For the third week in a row Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall is questionable as he continues to deal with a nagging ankle injury that kept him from practicing all week.

More from Chicago Bears

Marshall is officially listed as questionable, but the decision whether he suits up for the Bears’ game against the Green Bay Packers will be a game-time decision just as it was two weeks ago when the Bears defeated the San Francisco 49ers after Marshall had three touchdowns in the comeback win.

His ankle injury was tweaked in the Monday Night Football game against the New York Jets where he was limited to one catch for six yards in the team’s win.

The Bears can ill afford to see Marshall not play against their hated rivals but at the same time head coach Marc Trestman and the Bears front office need to determine if Marshall will be better served by sitting out this week and letting his ankle heal so he can get closer to 100 percent.

Marshall is a veteran so his absence from practice is not as detrimental as it would be for a a younger player who would need at least a day of practice to feel comfortable before being thrown out on the field on Sunday.

If Marshall can not suit up on Sunday or is limited in the same way he was vs. the Jets, look for Alshon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett to be the primary targets for Cutler.
