Chad Greenway out Sunday against the Falcons
Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway hasn’t missed a single game since he played his first game in the league in 2007, but that is going to come to an end this Sunday. NBC Sports is reporting that Greenway has not been practicing all week long and has now been listed as out for the Vikings’ game against the Falcons this Sunday. Greenway’s streak of 115 straight games played will be snapped.

The Minnesota inside linebacker has suffered a broken hand to go along wih the broken rib that has kept him out of practice all week. It is unclear as of now how long Greenway will be forced to sit out but it is clear that Minnesota’s defense will miss him. Greenway is arguably the most durable linebacker in the entire NFL and has been a constant in the middle of the Vikings defense for more than six years, which is an eternity these days in the era of NFL free agency.
Greenway will be replaced this Sunday by Brandon Watts, a 6’2″ linebacker from Georgia Tech who was drafted by the Vikings in this year’s draft. The rookie will have big shoes to fill in Minnesota as he looked to replace a mainstay in the Vikings defense for at the very least a few weeks, and possibly even more.
