With LeBron James now a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, expectations aren’t all that high for James’ former team, the Miami Heat.

Many view the Heat as mid-tier playoff time in the Eastern Conference and few think think this team has a chance of remaining at championship-contender status.
However, Chris Bosh, for one, revealed on media day that he’s bothered by this sort of talk and suggested the Heat are the best team in the NBA.
Bosh on Miami being viewed as a middle-of-the-pack team: "I don't like that. Middle of the pack? Who's better than us?"

Is this a ridiculous statement? Sure.
The San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder and James’ Cavaliers are among the teams that just about everybody would feel comfortable saying are stronger than the Heat right now.
Still, it’s hard to fault Bosh, or any athlete for that matter, for being confident about his team.
If Bosh fully embraces the additional responsibility without James and Wade stays healthy and plays at an elite level, it’s certainly possible for Miami to prove its doubters wrong and put together a great season.
But Bosh jumped the gun here with a statement like that, and it seems he realized it because he said the following moments later:
Bosh reluctantly admits the Bulls are probably the favorite in the East.

Bosh averaged 16.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game this past season with Miami.
