The Washington Redskins name is one of the biggest debates in the NFL, but that controversy has slipped to the background in the wake of some more serious issues recently. Comedy Central’s South Park took on the Redskins name hilariously this week, and the “The Daily Show,” also on Comedy Central, took on the subject as well.

Correspondent Jason Jones went and asked Redskins fans tailgating about the name, and eventually put some Redskins fans in the room with Native Americans. The Redskins fans weren’t too happy about it.
“This goes way beyond mocking. Poking fun is one thing, but that’s not what happened,” said Kelli O’Dell, via the Washington Post. “It was disingenuous. The Native Americans accused me of things that were so wrong. I felt in danger. I didn’t consent to that. I am going to be defamed.”
Host Jon Stewart even addressed this before the airing of the segment.
“If we find out that someone in a piece was intentionally misled, or if there comments were intentionally misrepresented, we do not air that piece,” Stewart said. “So that being said, I hope you enjoy the following piece.”
The Redskins fans at the tailgate also had an issue with being on camera. You can check out the segment below:
