Ladanian Tomlinson says he would take Le’Veon Bell ‘over any other back’

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell is turning heads in his second NFL season. He is second in the league in rushing yards and first in yards from scrimmage thanks to his versatility that has kept an occasionally inept Pittsburgh offense from sinking the rest of the team. The Steelers are firmly in the AFC playoff picture thanks to Bell’s ability and his work isn’t going unnoticed, even among some of the best to ever play the position.

“Right now, I would take Le’Veon Bell over any running back in the league,” LaDainian Tomlinson said on the NFL Network, per ESPN.com. “He has it all.”

If there’s anyone who knows versatility when he sees it, it’s Tomlinson, who spent about a decade as one of the top running backs in the game thanks to his skills in the running and passing game.

“He can do it all,” Tomlinson continued, “he can run inside, he has the speed to turn the corner, he can catch the football. He’s versatile, he’s athletic. I love Le’Veon Bell.”

Steelers fans aren’t going to argue that take. Without Bell and his big runs, the team may very well have been winless to start its first three games of the season. Instead, they remain firmly in the AFC playoff race with more confidence than ever. Now it’s up to Ben Roethlisberger, Bell, and the rest of the offense to keep up the good work and press on in a wide-open conference playoff hunt.
