DICK’S Sporting Goods’ Jersey Report tracks the sale of jerseys both online and nationwide. They then use the data to compile a list of the best selling jersey, and this week belongs to linebacker Luke Kuechly.
That’s right, Kuechly is beating out every offensive star in the league, names like Peyton Manning and Johnny Manziel, even the star quarterback of his own team Cam Newton, who slides in at No. 5 on the list.
That being said, using the “Jersey Showdown” feature we can see that Newton, who climbed nine spots int he weekly sales, is closing the gap with his fellow Panthers star.
Half of all Kuechly’s jersey sales come from men, and the youth version accounts for 36 percent of the sales. It is all primarily localized to the Carolina Panthers footprint as well.
Newton is almost the reverse of Kuechly, with 43 percent of his jersey sales coming from the youth version, men accounting for 36 percent and the women’s jersey accounting for a whooping 20 percent.
