Don’t sleep on Georgia Southern. Kevin Ellison and Matt Breida are very good players. Just ask Georgia Tech.
UCLA finally looked like a championship-caliber team. I know that Arizona State was without starting quarterback Taylor Kelly, but backup Mike Bercovici wasn’t bad. He did get the Sun Devils out to a 17-6 lead. Then UCLA found the explosiveness that the offense had been lacking. When the dust settled, Brett Hundley had accounted for five touchdowns and over 400 yards of total offense.
Those Oklahoma State helmets were ridiculous! Whoever decided that was a good idea should probably find another profession….

Then again, Texas Tech’s weren’t any better.
Congratulations are in order for Kentucky. They won their first SEC game since November of 2011. They held Vanderbilt to just eight first downs. In fact, they only allowed Vandy QB Wade Freebeck to just eight completions on 25 attempts.
What’s the only thing more exciting that breaking a record? Doing it like this:
Gary Nova now holds the Rutgers school record with 60 touchdowns passes, breaking Mike Teel’s mark. Â
What an ugly first half for Wisconsin. South Florida played them to a 3-3 tie over the first 30 minutes. They looked like the 1999 Badgers last week against Bowling Green….. Â
SMU won’t win a game. Yep, I’m predicting it. They have scored just 12 points on the entire season. That, of course, is last in FBS. They have also allowed an FBS worst 210 points. Even if you weren’t a math major, you know that this poses a major problem. Now, if the rumors are true and they do lure Josh Heupel from Oklahoma in the middle of the season, then maybe they win a game. Maybe. Â
Pop quiz: Who is the only undefeated team in the Big Ten(14)? How many of you said Nebraska? If you did, then you have been paying attention this year. If you said Penn State, you would have been right until they got embarrassed by Northwestern. Want to see what kind of day it was for Penn State? This says it all…. Â

Once again, an overmatched Tennessee team took Georgia to the wire. They didn’t lose in heartbreaking fashion like last year, but this still has to sting a bit. That said, Tennessee RB Jalen Hurd might lead the nation in rushing if he could get some blocking. QB Justin Worley got knocked out of the game, and backup Nathan Peterman took a lot of big hits because the Vols line couldn’t block anyone. They are going to get someone killed if they don’t start putting bodies on defenders. Go youtube some of the hits that Georgia put on Worley and Peterman. You will need an ice bath after watching……
How can a team with a player as good as James Conner struggle the way Pitt does? You would think that Dave Wannstedt is still the coach there……
Indiana’s penchant for giving up big plays burned them again against Maryland. The Terrapins rattle off big plays like no one’s business, and they did against the Hoosiers as well. Indiana had two first half touchdowns negated by penalties, and just couldn’t get out of their own way.
