4-Star defensive tackle Shy Tuttle gave his pledge to the Volunteers on Friday, joining 5-Star Kahlil McKenzie, giving them two of the best defensive tackle prospects in the country.

With the inside covered, the Volunteers followed Tuttle’s commitment by getting a pledge from a very talented defensive end prospect when 4-Star weak-side defensive end Darrell Taylor committed to the Volunteers. The 6’4, 220-pounder attends Hopewell High School in Hopewell, Virginia. He is ranked as the country’s 13th-best weak-side defensive end prospect, the 11th-best overall prospect from the state of Virginia and the 260th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015 according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.

Taylor also has offers from the Michigan State Spartans, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma Sooners and Penn State Nittany Lions, among others.

The Volunteers now have 24 commitments in the class of 2015. Their class ranks fifth nationally and fourth in the SEC.
