Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Johnson was asked about the differences between new coach Lionel Hollins and former coach Jason Kidd during the Nets’ media day activities on Friday.
Hollins is known for his belief in having a lot of team practices. Kidd? Not so much.
Johnson tried to deliver a straight answer, but was unsuccessful:
Hollins talked about noticing a lack of cohesiveness from the Nets when he watched them last season and he believes that can be fixed with more practice.

Kidd was a rookie head coach, just removed from his days as a player, with the Nets last season and after a slow start, Brooklyn was one of the better teams in the league over the second half of the season.
But the way he left Brooklyn, reportedly after a failed attempt to take some of general manager Billy King’s authority, didn’t leave players in the mood to be overly loyal to him.
Kidd is now the coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, taking the job with the Bucks before that team had gotten around to firing its coach at the time, Larry Drew.
Brooklyn went 44-38 last season after a dismal 10-21 start that included Kidd jettisoning his top assistant coach (and also his former coach when he played for the Nets in New Jersey), Lawrence Frank.
The Nets then beat Atlantic Division-champion Toronto in a seven-game first-round series before getting bounced by the Miami Heat in five games in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
