It has been another season full of mediocrity for the Mets, but Lucas Duda’s sudden outburst has given the Mets something to smile about. During the beginning of the season, the Mets had a controversy at first base. They weren’t sure whether to start Ike Davis or Lucas Duda. They decided to trade Davis to the Pirates, putting their trust in Duda to be the go to guy at first base.

Duda hasn’t let the Mets down at all this season. He has 29 home runs, 88 RBI and he has drastically improved in the field. Coming into tonight’s game against the Astros, Duda never hit a walk off home run in the Major Leagues.

That changed in tonight’s game.

Duda is a big man at 6’4″ and 255 pounds and he uses that size to help him absolutely crush the baseball at times. When Duda gets a hold of one, it is highly likely that the baseball will wind up a souvenir.

The Mets are missing the postseason for the eighth consecutive season this year, but with young, promising, talented players like Lucas Duda on the team, there is hope for the Mets to end that postseason drought and make the playoffs sometime in the near future.
