Did Rajon Rondo and the Boston Celtics lie about how he hurt his hand?

If you’re just now waking you, the news of Rajon Rondo injuring his hand by slipping in the shower. And with that news comes Rondo being forced to sit for six to eight weeks following surgery.

More from Boston Celtics

But in an unexpected (and predicted) turn, Rondo’s tale behind his hand injury may not be tree. According to an email sent to Barstool Sports, a blog that covers Boston-related sports, the Celtics point guard was seen at a Trampoline Park the day Rondo’s hand was broken.

"Rondo was at a trampoline park in Billerica last night. Might’ve been where he broke his hand. Here he is with my buddy who works there."

With this post came two images that further prove Rajon was at this park (titled “Altitude Trampoline Park”): an image of Rondo and a young male, the male reportedly being friend to whomever sent this email to barstool sports.

The second image would be a screenshot of tweets from Boston citizens who witnessed Rajon Rondo to be at the trampoline park on September 25.

If Rondo’s injury occurred at a trampoline park, he wouldn’t be the first pro athlete to lie about how he hurt himself. Most recently, USC talent Josh Shaw created a huge scandal by claiming his high ankle sprains occurred when saving a cousin from drowning. Days later that story was revealed to be a lie.

A similar incident occurred with then-Golden State Warriors star Monta Ellis whose severe left injury was sustained during a moped accident as opposed to the home workout accident he said originally caused the incident. The lie earned Ellis a 30-day suspension and while it didn’t happen, his contract could’ve been terminated.

That’s the consequence Rondo faces if the trampoline incident turns out to be true. Hopefully his shower story is the truth because he could find himself in trouble if it isn’t.
