The Baltimore Orioles are heading to the playoffs, and the team, including star outfielder Adam Jones, had the American East wrapped up long before Sunday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

MLB players in open-air stadiums are used to occasionally shooing away unwanted wildlife, including squirrels, chipmunks and various birds, but Jones doesn’t seem to mind too much when a few pigeons start wandering around centerfield, as long as they leave him enough space:

Baltimore ended up winning by a score of 1-0, with Jones chipping in a single during the victory. The pigeons didn’t get in the way of Jones’s attempts to catch fly balls, either. Considering they probably got some of the scraps of Jones’s sunflower seeds, doesn’t seem like a bad trade-off for the birds.

The 29-year old Jones is having arguably the best season of his career, as he’s been worth 5.4 fWAR this year, and has hit 29 home runs, slashed .281/.311/.470, and has 96 RBI and seven stolen bases for the American League East champions. The Orioles will have home-field advantage in the American League Divisional Series against the Detroit Tigers, who are the AL Central champs.
