Things just keep getting worse for the San Francisco 49ers. First, the blocked punt for a touchdown, then Malcolm Jenkins returns an interception for a touchdown, then Darren Sproles struck to get in on the action.

Sproles returned a punt for a touchdown, despite getting his facemasked yanked on the way there. The Eagles now have more touchdowns from their defense and special teams than they do first downs on offense.
This run by Sproles put the Eagles in front 21-10 midway through the second quarter. On top of that, it also gives Philadelphia’s last two touchdowns to their big offseason free agency signings. Both from the New Orleans Saints.
A fact that is not lost on the fan base, as you can see:

This is the fourth career punt return for a touchdown for Sproles, and his first since 2011. He has also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns during his career as well.
