Eagles vs. 49ers inactives: Niners get back Vernon Davis
By Phil Watson
Tight end Vernon Davis, out last week with ankle and knee injuries, is active Sunday as the San Francisco 49ers host the Philadelphia Eagles at the House of Blue Jeans—Levi’s Stadium.
The 49ers lost to the Arizona Cardinals last week, their second straight loss, and will be looking to get back to 2-2 as they host the unbeaten Eagles.

Davis, who had 52 receptions for 850 yards and 13 touchdowns and was a Pro Bowl selection in 2013, had seven grabs for 83 yards and two scores in the first two games this season before he was knocked out of action in San Francisco’s 28-20 come-from-ahead loss to Chicago on Sept. 14.
The news isn’t as good for the 49ers’ other primary tight end in their heavy two-tight end set, as Vance McDonald will be inactive for the second straight week because of a knee injury. He was listed as questionable on Friday’s final injury report.
The Eagles will have rookie wideout Jordan Matthews available despite his being slowed this week by an oblique injury.
