Jaguars vs. Chargers inactives: Jags will have Toby Gerhart
By Phil Watson
Rookie quarterback Blake Bortles will have running back Toby Gerhart available Sunday when he makes his first NFL start for the Jacksonville Jaguars against the San Diego Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium.
Gerhart has played in every game this season for Jacksonville, but continues to be limited by an ankle injury. He has just 82 yards on 34 carries. He was signed as a free agent this spring after spending four seasons backing up Adrian Peterson with the Minnesota Vikings.

Bortles, the No. 3 overall pick in May’s draft out of UCF, made his NFL debut last week against Indianapolis and was 14-for-24 for 223 yards and two touchdowns and also threw two interceptions. He ran twice for 30 yards, as well.
With running back Ryan Mathews still out with a knee injury, Donald Brown will get the bulk of the carries again for the Chargers. He obliterated his previous career-high of 18 carries in a game in last week’s win at Buffalo, carrying the ball 31 times but gaining just 62 yards.
For the year, Brown has 81 yards on 40 carries and has eight receptions for another 37. He was with the Colts for five seasons, gaining 2,377 yards and scoring 17 touchdowns on 551 carries.
