Los Angeles Dodgers Adrian Gonzalez takes MLB RBI crown
By Ed Carroll
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez was already leading Major League Baseball with 113 RBI entering Sunday’s game, but after hitting a home run and driving in three more runs in a 10-5 victory against the Colorado Rockies, there was little doubt that Gonzalez had sealed the crown.

Gonzalez finishes 2014 with a MLB-leading 116 RBI, just three shy of the 32-year old’s career high.
Gonzalez had a good overall year with the bat for the Dodgers, hitting 26 home runs, and slashing .273/.333/.474, with a weighted on base average (wOBA) of .347. Gonzalez, who played in 158 games, was quite valuable for LA this season with a total of 3.2 fWAR.
Gonzalez has now had at least 100 RBI in five-straight seasons and at least 100 RBI in seven of the past eight seasons (Gonzalez had 99 RBI in 2009 with the San Deigo Padres).
Gonzalez is signed through 2018 in a contract he originally agreed to with the Boston Red Sox.
Boston traded the slugger near the 2012 trade deadline to the Dodgers in a massive deal that also included Josh Beckett and Carl Crawford, and sent prospects and needed payroll flexibility back to the Red Sox. Boston won the World Series the next year, but the Dodgers have made the playoffs in two straight seasons with Gonzalez.
