Mike Glennon is leading things now after Josh McCown was benched with a sore thumb laced in embarrassment, and so far the move is paying off. After the Buccaneers defense got the Steelers offense off the field, Glennon led the team down the field for the first score of the game.
What’s notable about the touchdown — outside of the fact that the Buccaneers proved they can score them — was that is marked the first touchdown catch of rookie Mike Evans’ career in the NFL.
Evans is the future at wide receiver for the Buccaneers and his tandem with Vincent Jackson might be one of the more special things to hit Tampa Bay in a long time. It’s been a slow start so far to the Lovie Smith era and Josh McCown clearly isn’t the leader of the team, but the reigns being handed back over to Glennon already looks like a brilliant move.
