Jameis Winston’s hometown residents ’embarrassed’ by Florida State quarterback
Maybe Jameis Winston can’t go home again. The Florida State Seminoles quarterback has come under fire for his immaturity, lack of self-awareness and propensity to cast a negative spotlight on himself, his university and his hometown of Hueytown, Alabama.

The same town that had a Jameis Winston day this summer where he was honored with a key to the city, had two permanent signs posted in the community and had his high school jersey retired. But in the time since then, Winston has only dug himself a deeper hole as his off-the-field actions take away from his brilliant ability on the football field.
Jameis doesn’t have any respect for women
Most recently, Winston was suspended for the Clemson game after shouting vulgar comments on campus. The Seminoles needed overtime and a few fortunate breaks to escape with the win and remain the No. 1 team in the nation.
His head coach Jimbo Fisher was disappointed in his Heisman winner’s behavior and so are the hometown residents who think he is an embarrassment and has no respect for women.
"“He’s an embarrassment to Hueytown,” Hueytown, Alabama resident Pam Miller told AL.com. “But the bigger issue is that this young man is ripping apart his future with his own hands. It’s like a runaway train. You know it’s going to wreck, but all you can do is watch. It’s terrible and it’s tragic.”"
Winston is a performer and an entertainer who always thinks he has to perform his audience, but that has gotten him in trouble and one resident thinks his father needs to intervene.
“Jameis doesn’t have any respect for women and it’s like he constantly needs attention,” local resident Gary Jennings added. “He’s embarrassed Hueytown. If I were his father, I would have had a serious, serious talk with him a long time ago. I’ll still root for him, but I fear for him.”
