As good as the Los Angeles Clippers’ Jamal Crawford is, he’s not one of the most recognisable figures in the NBA to the average fan. Although he now plays on a championship contending team, Crawford has spent little time in his 14 years in the nation’s spotlight. And although he has been named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year on two occasions, he’s never made an All-Star team and he’s not endorsed by some of the bigger names in the business world.
So, all in all, you can’t blame someone for not knowing who he is. Neither can Crawford, in fact, which we found out on Sunday night when he told a very short story of him meeting a woman on a plane who had no idea who he was.
First off, the lady complimented his shoes, not knowing that they were really his shoes. (You know, not just his shoes because he bought them. They’re from his sneaker line with Brandblack, so they’re actually his.)
The lady in the seat next to me on the plane just asked me about the shoes I had on my ft, she said " those are cool looking" had (cont)

Then she asked him if he is a senior in college, which, instead of correcting her, Crawford went along with.
Oh, this convo on the plane is funnnny. Now she thinks I'm in college. She asked if I'm a senior, I said "yes" she said well I hope u (cont)

Get drafted! I'll tell her at the end of the flight. She's just going on and on. This is dope forreal these type of moments are priceless..

Crawford probably wanted to remember this moment because he snapped a picture of them talking.

And, yes, Crawford did end up telling her who he is.
"@JessTownes: I wonder if @JCrossover told the lady on the plan who he was yet..."--yes, she said " you little stinker, I forgive u" haha!

In the woman’s defense, Crawford still looks like he’s 20 years old, so for all she knew he could’ve actually been a senior.
Nevertheless, it made for a fun story, one that was broadcasted to over 600,000 people.
The joys of interacting with a professional athlete who uses social media!
