Brandon Moss three-run HR puts A’s up over Royals in sixth (Video)
By Jack Crosby
The Oakland Athletics and the Kansas City Royals got the Major League Baseball postseason started on Tuesday night with their one-game Wild Card Playoff, and the crowd in Kansas City was rocking. They were especially loud when they took a 3-2 lead in the third inning and holding that lead for a bit.
Well, the tune in Kansas City changed dramatically, and all it took was one pitching change from Royals manager Ned Yost and one swing of the bat from A’s slugger Brandon Moss.

With his pitch count getting up there in the sixth inning, starting pitcher James Shield was brought out of the game with no one out and runners on first and second.
Brandon Moss was up to bat for Oakland, and having already blasted a home run back in the first inning, Yost opted to bring in Yordano Ventura, who would more than likely see a start at some point, should the Royals advance.
Now, the chances of him making that start are in serious jeopardy, because it was long until Moss took him deep to center to give the A’s a 5-3 lead.
Yost has been criticized before in regards to over-managing a game, but this could have been his most crucial mistake ever.
