Carey Price to start in net on Wednesday vs Chicago Blackhawks
If there’s anybody who fans are having nervous breakdowns over, it’s Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price.

The netminder was knocked out in Game 1 of the playoff series between the Canadiens and the New York Rangers, due to what I obnoxiously constantly refer to as “Kreidergate”. New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider, who was skating too quickly towards the Montreal net, lost his footing- though there is debate as to whether it was due to tripping over a Montreal stick or simply his own overexhuberance on the ice- and collided with Price skates-first.
It’s been a long summer, and Price has been hard at work rehabbing his knee. Looks like his determination is finally paying off- he’s been playing in preseason, and will get to start in goal against Chicago this Wednesday.
Back when the injury occurred, Price attempted to play through it for the remainder of the period before heading off the ice. While he initally refused to admit there was any kind of knee issue, and insisted that he wouldn’t need a brace, fans discovered that to be far from the truth, as he didn’t dress out for the remainder of the Canadiens six-game collapse to the Rangers.
