The twenty-first century has featured some of the most talented players in the history of college basketball. With around the clock coverage of the games in the new millennium, players reached heights of stardom never seen before. All of the players on this list dominated the hardwood while enrolled at their respective universities, most becoming household names in the sports world. Many of these players propelled their teams through exciting runs into the NCAA Tournament, while others were so dominant on less successful teams that they cannot be left off. Not all of these players stayed in school for all four years of their eligibility, many left after just a year or two in college — yet they were still good enough to crack this top 25 list.

A few factors were considered for this list, first and foremost being talent. Thus, these 25 players are some of the most talented players in college basketball history, but more than that was considered. Individual success was also valued, too (i.e. eye-popping statistics, awards, fantastic seasons, etc.) as that is the true mark of a player’s dominance. Winning was considered, but wasn’t overly valued because it takes a team to win and these are the top 25 players. Only four programs landed multiple players on this list, which ones were they? You’ll have to check it out to see.

Did your favorite player of the twenty-first century make the cut?
