Daryl Morey thinks Houston Rockets will re-sign Dwight Howard
Although all of the talk about 2016 free agency surrounding Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant, another star has the opportunity to become an unrestricted free agent – Houston Rockets’ center Dwight Howard.

Morey believes that he has an advantage because the Rockets are the first team Howard actually picked himself rather than that team picking him.
“We’re the first team Dwight has ever picked,” said Morey via Zach Lowe of Grantland. “James [Harden] and Dwight are a combo you can win a title with, and we plan to have them here for the remainder of their careers.”
If the Rockets can show improvement from last season – they were eliminated in the first round by the Portland Trail Blazers – Morey is probably right.
Howard put up 18.3 points, 12.2 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, 1.8 assists and 0.8 steals per game while shooting 59.1% from the field and 54.7% from the free throw line last season. Howard was the number-one overall pick of the Orlando Magic back in 2004 and was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2012. In his 10-year NBA career, he’s averaged 18.3 points, 12.9 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 57.9% from the floor and 57.4% from the charity stripe.
