The Florida Gators got off to a pretty good start to the season at 2-0, but in their last outing they took a trip to Tuscaloosa, Alabama and were annihilated by the Alabama Crimson Tide, bringing everyone back down to earth. The people most brought back down to earth were the folks that were behind quarterback Jeff Driskel improving this season.

In the loss to the Tide, Driskel had one of the worst outings of his career –which is really saying something–as he threw for 93 yards on just 9-of-28 passing. He threw one touchdown early on, but followed that up with two interceptions.
Yes, there were a lot of people that expected a lot better, even against Alabama, now that Driskel and the offense is under the direction of new offensive coordinator Kurt Roper. Of course, the fans wanting Driskel put down on the bench for good are out in droves.
Well on Tuesday during a conference, Roper reiterated to the media that he and the rest of the coaching staff have all the faith in the world in Driskel leading this offense going forward.

It’s easy to say this after a loss to a team as good as Alabama, but the fact of the matter is that if Driskel does not get the job done with weekend against the Tennessee Volunteers, then Roper and head coach Will Muschamp might have no choice but to give freshman Treon Harris a shot.
