This past Saturday, although the SEC East is not very highly regarded, the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Missouri Tigers played one of the better games of the weekend, with Mizzou pulling it out in the end. However, what people remember most from that game has really nothing to do with anything that affected the scoreboard, rather they remember the moment that Steve Spurrier and Maty Mauk shared.

In case you missed it, in the second half, Mauk was running out of bounds when he just happened to encounter Spurrier on the South Carolina sideline. Well it just so happened that Spurrier couldn’t get out of the way and he ended up taking a bit of a shot from Mauk.
If you missed the hilarious sequence, you can view it here.
Since Spurrier wasn’t seriously injured, it is indeed pretty funny.
While speaking to the media on Tuesday, Spurrier spoke a bit about the incident.
“He didn’t give me an extra elbow or anything, he just sort of jarred me,” Spurrier said during his weekly press conference. “I stayed upright but my ball plays fell out (of my hand).”
Seems the Ol’ Ball Coach was more concerned that he lost his plays.
Spurrier then noted that he didn’t even know Mauk was the one that got him at first, rather he thought it was one of his own players.
“When I see the rush coming or a wad of people, I try to get out of the way,” Spurrier said. “I felt a push in the back and I thought one of my own guys hit me.”
