The TCU Horned Frogs are off to a 3-0 start to the 2014 season, and this good start is thanks due in large part to the play of quarterback Trevone Boykin. In the team’s most recent win this past Saturday over the SMU Mustangs, a 56-0 blowout, Boykin was stellar once again. For his efforts, he has been named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose National Player of the Week.

In the win over the Mustangs, Boykin finished with 280 yards on 23-of-36 passing with four touchdowns and no interceptions. The versatile speedster also added in 62 yards on the ground on seven carries with two more scores.

After a disappointing season last year, through three games this year, it looks as if the Frogs are putting it all together. But we will find out a lot more about that this coming Saturday when Boykin and his team will be at home against the No. 4-ranked Oklahoma Sooners to start play in the Big 12.
